Photo Gallery: Students on Spring Break
Several groups of students, faculty and advisors have had the opportunity to travel to Barcelona, Brazil and Mississippi during the 2009 spring break. Here are some images from those trips.

Barcelona
17 Architecture Scholars students traveled to Barcelona, Spain under the guidance of faculty members Beth Blostein and Bart Overly. During winter quarter, the students researched various buildings and parks, and produced a series of Nolli maps to depict distinct districts of the city. Once in Barcelona, the group explored the city’s urban fabric and investigated the notable works of Gaudi, Herzog and DeMeuron, Meier, Nouvel, Ferrater, FOA and others. Brazil
A studio led by professors Jason Kentner and Ann Pendleton-Jullian traveled to Brazil to visit their spring quarter site. Through the end of the year, the studio will concentrate on São Miguel das Missões. All photos courtesy of Marcela Santos.



Mississippi
Undergraduate student advisor Amy Shaw led a group of students from the group SERVItecture to help rebuild homes with Project Reclaim, a non-profit collaboration of American Baptist Churches of Greater Indianapolis and One Great Hour of Sharing. Project Reclaim's objective is to help design and build homes for victims of Hurricane Katrina in the town of Pass Christian, MS. All photos courtesy of Katie O'Lone.
