KSA Student Selected for the 2009 Homecoming Court
After a very selective application and interview process, senior architecture student Lauren Luffy was selected to be a member of the 2009 Homecoming court. She was contacted by the former Homecoming King in May, while studying abroad in Italy, that she had earned the position.
Lauren is involved in a gamut of extra-curricular activities and community service opportunities. Apart from being a University Ambassador and Vice President of the Ohio State Sportsmanship Council, she works with the Neighborhood Design Center, a non-profit connected with the University that provides design and planning services to areas around Central Ohio. She is also Secretary of SPHINX, a senior class honorary, a Volunteer Coordinator on the Advisory Board of Honors Ambassadors, and part of the founding committee of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Conference. In her spare time, she participates in service projects with Women in Engineering, volunteers at NCAA sporting events, and helps with Habitat for Humanity, recently traveling to South Carolina to build houses on Johns Island.
Court members are chosen using a combination of application scores, interview scores, and grade-point averages. The King and Queen will be announced at the Homecoming Game on October 24th, and selection is based on application, interview and popular vote by the students.
