"The project takes traditional Islamic architecture of the site and incorporates ideas of structure, ornament, and reflection into a modern hyperindexical argument. Precedents were taken from organic formations including coral reefs and stalagmitic caves. With the chrome reflective interior, the inhabitants and even the building itself become the ornament as figures are bent and distorted, creating a visual phenomenon. Organic columns are also reflective features, with roots and branches allowing for a strange and possibly frightening experience."
