McSherry a Finalist in Flight 93 Memorial Competition

KSA landscape architecture Section Head and Associate Professor Laurel McSherry, with Terry Surjan, is one of five finalists in the international competition for a memorial to Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA. The McSherry-Surjan scheme was one of five selected from a field of 1045 entries to receive $25,000 and an invitation to participate in Stage II. Jurors for the competition were: Paul Friedberg FASLA, Donna Graves, Richard Haag FASLA, Hon AIA, David Hollenberg, Michael Rotondi FAIA, Carole O'Hare, W. Cecil Steward FAIA, Susan Szenasy, and Sarah Waino.nbsp: The other four finalists are: Leor Lovinger and Gilat Lovinger, Ken Lum, Paul Murdoch Architects, and Steiner, Lewis, Kenter, Miller.
