Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture

Robert Smith, '76

Robert Loversidge, Jr., FAIA, '74, *76, ARCH, and Robert Smith, AlA, '76, ARCH, of Schooley Caldwell Associates were finalists in the James B. Recchie Design Award competition for their work on the Central Ohio Fire Museum & Learning Center. The Firehouse Museum has been a multi-year project undertaken by Columbus Firefighters. The historic firehouse had been significantly altered before restoration began. The entire cornice and upper tower were carefully reconstructed based on historic photographs. Columbus firefighters have supported this preservation project through donations from their paychecks and proudly staff the museum as volunteers.
