Undergraduate Minors of CRP
In addition to degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture, the KSA also offers a minor in City and Regional Planning. The minor consists of a minimum of 24 credit hours.
Students must take the following City and Regional Planning courses:
CRP 310 - Intro to City and Regional Planning
CRP 320 - Planning for Housing
CRP 643 - American City Planning
The remaining 12 credit hours are to be chosen from the following list of City and Regional Planning courses:
CRP 330 - Planning and Urban Design
CRP 597 - City Planning in the Contemporary World
CRP 712 - Theory Of City And Regional Planning
CRP 720 - Introduction To Analysis Of Energy Factors In City And Regional Planning
CRP 722 - Introduction To Analysis And Use Of Environmental Factors In City And Regional Planning
CRP 732 - Urban Planning and Urban Form: Psychological Functions
CRP 733 - Urban Planning and Urban Form: Social Functions
CRP 753 - Outlines of Regional Planning
CRP 761 - Land-Use Controls
CRP 775 - Urban Transportation Planning
Students must take the minor courses for a grade and receive a 2.0 or higher. Minor courses may not double count for courses in a student's major, or as GEC requirements. CRP courses used as a minor will not double count as Architecture electives. No more than five hours of independent study may be applied to any minor.
Students with an interest in City and Regional Planning are strongly encouraged to take courses in other departments to strengthen their backgrounds in related social sciences. Recommended courses include: Economics 200, 400; Geography 597.01, 650; Political Science 505; Sociology 367.02, 671. These courses will not be applied toward the minor.
