Michael Blier is a registered Landscape Architect and founding principal of the critically recognized design group, Landworks Studio Inc, established in Salem Massachusetts in 1997 and now located in downtown Boston. Blier has been a Core Design Studio instructor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design where he also co-taught Landscape Representation courses and fulfilled the duties of
Fall semester core coordinator. Blier also taught design studios at The Rhode Island School of Design and Penn State University.

Blier’s recent work is largely urban and site specific in nature. It seeks to exploit and mine the inherent complexities that exist between ecologically challenged sites, ecological and cultural sustainability, material tectonics and program as a mechanism for achieving highly performative and experientially and visually compelling solutions to a broad set of conditions that confront the re-urbanization of disturbed land. His projects have been published in Topos, A&T, Metropolis, Dwell and the New International Landscape and in countries such as Spain, India, China, Taiwan, France, Germany, and The Netherlands to name a few. Landworks Studio is currently progressing commissions situated throughout the United States as well as in Taiwan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

All lectures are free and open to the public.
