Going Fragile is a temporary weather station consisting of four room-sized computers installed in various locations around Knowlton Hall. These computers will inflate thousands of delicate soap bubbles over the course of a day. Each bubble, connected to an online database, will act as a sensor for recording the complex interactions between indoor air, Knowlton’s human and non-human inhabitants, and the leaky perimeter of the building itself. The work reimagines the architecture of Knowlton as the fragile formation of atmospheres made and maintained by all those who inhabit it.
