Graham Welling, a senior in the OSU Honors Program double majoring in City and Regional Planning and Russian, received the Student Recognition Award at the Friday, February 10 meeting of the University's Board of Trustees.

The capacity to express complex, often highly detailed information in comprehensive, visual form is a skill developed by Knowlton School of Architecture students in all three of our academic sections. Architecture graduate student Alex Ruiz used those skills to produce a CNC mill-fabricated installation representing a population map of Ohio.

Joshua Mackley (BSARCH ’02) and Mathew Ford (BSARCH ’02) are among eight finalists chosen to take part in the exhibit The Unfinished Grid: Design Speculations for Manhattan, a design competition sponsored by The Architecture League of New York, the Museum of the City of New York and Architizer.

The Knowlton School of Architecture Alumni Society recently celebrated the 2011 Alumni Reunion weekend with an awards ceremony and reception in the Knowlton Hall Architecture Library held in honor of the winners of the College of Engineering Distinguished Alumni Awards and the winners of the KSA Alumni Society IMPACT and Under Ten Awards.

City and Regional Planning faculty members Gulsah Akar and Steve Gordon were awarded an OPREP (ODOT Partnered Research Exploration Program) research grant of $136,000 from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for their project “Linking Land Use, Transportation and Travel Behavior in Ohio.”

On Saturday, October 15, the Knowlton School welcomed friends and supporters to Knowlton Hall for the Knowlton School’s annual Scholarship Luncheon event. More than 120 people attended the luncheon, which brings together individuals and organizations committed to providing support for students enrolled in all three of the Knowlton School academic sections with the students who are current recipients of that generosity.
