Fashion Schau Raises $1,250 for Charity

The Knowlton School’s third Annual Fashion Schau raised $1,250 for the charitable organization Dress for Success Columbus, nearly as much as the amount raised in the event’s first two years combined. Dress for Success is a national organization that helps empower women in their communities to become more self-sufficient through access to professional attire, career and development courses, and informational sessions.  The event, held in the Knowlton Hall Center Space on January 24, this year featured 14 designer/model teams, and was organized by the Knowlton student group SERVitecture.

In their designs, Fashion Schau contestants must rethink fashion architecturally. Student designers were asked to creatively incorporate the concept of the silhouette in comparison to the design’s overall expressive form. They were also judged based on economic design solutions, creativity, and production.

This year’s winning entry was designed by Dariel Bustos-Chaves, an interior design major at Ohio State.

The 2014 Fashion Schau jury consisted of Jackie Gargus, Bart Overly, Beth Blostein, Karla Trott, and Andrew Cruse.
