4th Annual Knowlton Fashion Schau Raises $1,300 for Charity

The 4th Annual Fashion Schau, organized by student group SERVitecture and hosted in Knowlton Hall’s Center Space on Friday, February 20, raised $1,300 for charity Dress for Success Columbus, exceeding last year’s recording breaking total of $1,250. This year’s Schau was more interactive for the audience, who were given LED pulse bracelets to light up the runway. Additionally, in reaction to the increasing number of designers taking part in the Schau (more than 20 this year), a new People’s Choice Award provided the opportunity for attendees to vote for their favorite design. Judges for this year’s Schau were Jackie Gargus, Karla Trott, Beth Blostein, Bart Overly, and SERVitecture faculty advisor Kay Bea Jones. Designers were encouraged to experiment with recycled or unconventional materials and to incorporate an abundance of color in their designs.

Winners (designers and their models) of the 2015 Fashion Schau are:

1st Place - Kristin Wyczawski with model Kayla Tate
2nd Place - Max Moore with model Missy Jones
3rd Place - John Dai with model Meghan Blackson

The Black Sheep Award for the most creative use of materials went to Heyi Song with model Zhijun Zhang.
The audience-selected People's Choice Award went to Kristin Wyczawski and model Kayla Tate.

This year's Schau was made possible by the generous support of the Ohio Union, Lowe's, Undergraduate Student Government and the Ronan family. Because of their support, organizers were able to customize and rebrand the event.
