The clients of the Retreat House is a rich single man, who want to escape from the busy city life. The design provide its residents both a quiet place for living, individual space for thinking and space for social activity.

Clients arrives by boat and going up to the platform. The living space is located in the corner of first floor to fulfill the basic living requirements. The space for thinking located in the second floor facing the mountain, which providing the space isolated from the busy city. The space for activities goes across the ramp and platform. 

 

The light is controlled by patterns in the window, when the space is private, the pattern is small and closed. And when the space is public, the pattern is big. There is also transformation between public and private space.
