The Place is a project that creates a sublime experience from exterior to interior. The project is a juxtaposition of carving with the exterior façade consisting of precise carving to bring in light while staying more of “shell” to conceal the interior. The grand stair pulls the visitor in. The interior is more chaotic with the West Wall being carved to create space. With program this is where more of the public spaces are. The East Wall is more of a Carving to reveal, as if it was always there, which provides the private part of the program. The center vein of circulation gets the visitor from one side to the other with a grand experience.
