The contemporary visual and performing arts center is created with encounter spaces that lead to a medium and large performance halls.  The building utilizes a bowtie form to create a very thin wrapper that houses the three program elements.  The entrance to the project is in the center where at the base of a “trunk” that holds up the entire building with stabilization from the bowtie. Within the “trunk” is the combination of encounter spaces and circulation.  The bowtie form has two large light wells that penetrate into the “trunk” to define where encounter spaces occur in the project.  As the user moves up the “trunk” they come upon the medium performance hall with the ultimate goal circulating up to the large performance hall.
