Henry Smith-Miller is a partner in Smith-Miller + Hawkinson Architects. The firm received numerous awards including a Progressive Architecture Design Award for Strategic Open Space: Public Realm Improvement Strategy for Lower Manhattan, an AIA New York Chapter Design Award for the Colorado Springs Academy District 20 K-12 Project, and a National Academy of Design award for the New York
Public Library Project. Their work has been published in ANY , Architecture, Architectural Record, Casabella, Global Architecture, Dwell, ID Magazine, Interiors, Interior Design, Metropolis, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and UM .

Significant completed projects include the Corning Museum of Glass and the North Carolina Museum of Art Outdoor Cinema and Amphitheater and Master Plan. Projects currently under construction include the new Land Ports of Entry at Champlain and Massena, New York and a mid-rise, multi-unit condominium complex on West 53rd Street in Manhattan. Henry is currently the design architect for the new River Building for the Hospital for Special Surgery on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

He has served on the Board of Creative Time and is a member of the Associate Council of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Smith-Miller is a registered architect in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, California, North Carolina, Virginia, Maine, and Colorado. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Princeton University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a Fulbright Scholar in Rome, Italy.
