During this four-hour interactive workshop, participants will experiment with the materiality of fabric and its use as a tool to conceptualize landscape forms familiar and new. Workshop participants will learn and practice various fabric manipulation techniques that will aid in creating their very own fabricated landscape model.

Like those who work with fabrics, textile artists, or fashion designers, participants in this workshop will not only craft a landscape model but will work to interpret and create a narrative for their modeled composition assigning meaning to every pleat, fold, cut, and seam. These interpretations will be presented as rendered drawings in the format of each participant's choosing.

Workshop participants will be invited to display their work as a part of the Fabricated Landscape Lab exhibit on display currently in Knowlton's Banvard Gallery.

Registration capped at 25
