Registration for Denman Undergraduate Research Forum Opens January 7

The annual Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2013. Registration for the Forum, which highlights outstanding undergraduate student research, will be open from Monday, January 7 through Friday, February 8, 2013.

The Denman Undergraduate Research Forum is a cooperative effort of The Ohio State University's Honors & Scholars Center, The Undergraduate Research Office, and The Office of Research. The Forum has grown substantially since its creation in 1996. In its inaugural year, the Forum attracted 60 student particpants. Over 600 registered students displayed 538 projects and competed for $18,500 as part of the 2012 Denman Forum.

Students enrolled in any undergraduate degree program at The Ohio State University are invited to participate, provided they are engaged in supervised research projects.

  • Research that has been presented in another venue is welcome.
  • By submitting an abstract, the student agrees to present the research at the Forum.
  • Final presentations are primarily in the form of poster presentations, but may include other forms such as multimedia, visual arts, or performance.
  • All undergraduate research areas will be represented.
  • Cash prizes will be given in each of the final categories.
  • Enrollment in the Honors & Scholars program is not a requirement for students who wish to participate in the Forum.
  • To assist students in preparing their presentations, workshops will be held in advance of the Forum on the following topics: utilizing your resources for research, how to write an abstract, and how to develop an effective poster.
