CHOA CHU KANG CEMETERY (SINGAPORE) considers site, the combination of (possibly inconsistent) logics, the nature of the cemetery, and the conflicts between traditions and contemporary stresses. These projects should operate as an assessment of and commentary on these issues…in addition to functioning as a solution to the problems they present. The project asks graduate students at the end of their first semester of study to gather all of their current technical, representational, and analytical skills to define a problem while determining the site, scope, scale, resolution, and program best suited to tackle it.
