Eugenia Martin Elected President of ASLA

Landscape Architecture alumna Eugenia Martin (BSLA ’95) was elected president of the American Society of Landscape Architects and was sworn into the position on November 22, 2021.

In her remarks, Martin acknowledged the change ASLA has experienced over the past few years and the need to embrace the change. She highlighted the connection to students and emerging professionals as the future of landscape architecture as well as the importance of diversity in landscape architecture -- from designers to project managers, in the private and public sector. She also pointed out that as the 77th president of ASLA, and only the 11th woman president, the metrics need to change to reflect more women in leadership.
