Outpost Office Releases “NEBOMETER”

Outpost Office (Ashley Bigham and Erik Herrmann) has released “NEBOMETER,” a cyanometer that includes a spectrum of hues sampled from depictions of Ukrainian skies as painted, rendered, or photographed by 22 Ukrainian artists. Proceeds benefit the Kharkiv School of Architecture.

We’re thrilled to announce the release of “NEBOMETER,” a new limited edition work by Outpost Office (Ashley Bigham and Erik Herrmann). It is the first project to be published by our new imprint, NYRA Editions, which develops experimental works in collaboration with architects, artists, and designers.

Attributed to Horace-Bénédict de Saussure and Alexander von Humboldt, the cyanometer is an instrument for measuring sky intensity. This nebometer (from nebo, the Ukrainian word for sky) includes a spectrum of hues sampled from depictions of Ukrainian skies as painted, rendered, or photographed by 22 Ukrainian artists.
