Hickock Cole Announces Rise Internship and Stipend to Elevate Black Design Voices

Hickock Cole, a design practice with offices in Washington, DC and Virginia has announced the inaugural Rise Internship and Stipend program. The financial award will provide financial assistance and professional experience to support promising Black architecture and interior design students. Recipients will receive a $5,000 stipend for university-related expenses including tuition fees, textbooks, boarding, and current semester balances. Senior Principal of Hickock Cole, Yolanda Cole, is an alumnus of Ohio State University.

The deadline to apply is February 10.

The Rise Internship + Stipend is awarded to one applicant annually. The selected recipient will join Hickok Cole for an eight-to-ten-week paid internship program. Interns will gain the valuable work experience required to be competitive for entry-level positions upon graduation and be exposed to a broader network of industry mentors, peers, and organizations. Upon completion, they will be awarded a $5,000 stipend to allocate towards university-related expenses such as tuition, fees, textbooks, and emergency funds needed to cover current semester balances.
