Philip Arnold is the Coordinator of Media Production at the Knowlton School. In this position, he produces media that communicates the pedagogy, culture and achievements of the school through feature news articles, photography and video. As a member of the communication team, he contributes to marketing strategy and brand development to promote the school on a variety of platforms. 

His work at the Knowlton School reflects his interests outside of work. His poetry and essays have appeared in The Iowa Review, Midwest Quarterly, North Dakota Quarterly, apt, Rattle, Adventure Cyclist and overseas in Corbel Stone Press, Galway Review, Carillon, Northwords and the New Shetlander Review.  His piece, Stereoscopic Paris, was a "Notable Essay" selection in the 2017 Best American Essays anthology. He is the recipient of a 2016 Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council.

His photography has appeared in Compose, Cerise Press, Apeiron Review, Gravel Magazine, Meadowland Review, IronMind and Birmingham Arts Journal. His most recent documentary, “Into the Distance”, screened at eight festivals, including DocUtah International Film Festival, Athens International Film Festival, The Film Festival of Colorado and Twin Rivers Media Festival. His current documentary, “Hollywood in the High Country: A History of the Appalachian Theatre”, is in post-production. He has a BA and MA degree in English from Appalachian State University.
