The Dance and Performing Arts Center (DPAC) was designed around three “encounter rooms” and a two traditional theaters. The “encounter rooms” which are inspired by specific dance and performance art routines that are meant to enhance the routines and engage the audience with the performance more than traditional theaters allow. The traditional theaters at DPAC allow for a passerby a series of brief glimpses into the theater and the circulation between the “encounter rooms” enables the visitor views into multiple theaters. The skin of the building lifts up creating access to an adjacent park and two large covered outdoor concourses.
