What do you enjoy most about being a Knowlton student?

I think that the small and tight-knit community is what I enjoy most about being a Knowlton student. I love being able to walk through Knowlton Hall or into a class on the first day and see several people I know. I love how big Ohio State is, however, sometimes it’s nice that Knowlton provides a smaller community of people with shared interests and passions. Nowhere else on campus have I been able to make friends with my classmates as quickly as I have here at Knowlton!

How are you involved in the campus and community outside of being a Knowlton Ambassador?

Outside of Knowlton Ambassadors, I am involved in Knowlton’s City and Regional Planning Student Association (CRPSA) and am a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Off campus I work as a page for the Ohio State Senate minority caucus, and serve as the treasurer for the College Democrats of Ohio.

What is your best advice for a new Knowlton student?

My advice would be to get involved in as many Knowlton student organizations and events as you can! Whether it’s becoming a member of CRPSA, joining Alpha Rho Chi, or attending the Baumer Lecture Series, there are so many opportunities to get involved in the Knowlton community.

As a student who joined the Knowlton School my sophomore year, getting involved was very important for me to be able to meet new people in my major and further explore my interests. There are so many unique organizations and events here at Knowlton that I guarantee you will find one you love!

What Ohio State resource do you use the most and would recommend to other students?

The CABS bus system. When I first came to Ohio State and was living on-campus, I had no idea how to use the campus bus system. Since moving off campus to an apartment easily a twenty-five minute walk from Knowlton, CABS has become a necessity. I believe that the campus busses are a great resource that make getting across campus so much easier.

What's your final advice you want to share with prospective and/or admitted Knowlton students?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Whether you are asking a professor for help on a project, going to an advisor for scheduling questions, or event asking another Knowlton student for advice, asking questions is super important. When I became a City and Regional Planning major I had to learn a whole new curriculum and class structure, which was initially confusing and overwhelming. However, I was able to get the help I needed through question asking and now I feel super confident about myself and my place in the Knowlton community. Everyone is super friendly and will always be happy to help you succeed here at Knowlton!
