Déjà View problematizes the relationship between architectural subjects and their photographic representations. The living room of Pierre Koenig's Stahl House is reconstructed twice in Knowlton's Banvard Gallery, using the tectonics of Julius Shulman's iconic photographs. The exhibition corrupts the ideal photographic images of the Stahl House, reconfiguring Koenig's original design, both photographically and spatially. Discrepancies between photographic and architectural tectonics re-positions the Stahl house in a liminal space between its sensationalized image and built configuration.
