Month-Long Columbus Design Week[s] Promotes Design in the City
For the third year running, The Center for Architecture and Design is organizing Columbus Design Week[s], “an annual festival focused on connecting the public to design through a series of unique programs geared towards celebrating, educating and inspiring in an effort to get people talking about the unique role that design plays in Columbus.”
For 2014, Columbus Design Week[s] runs from September 20 – October 22, with events arranged into two categories, those “organized by the Columbus Center for Architecture and Design, and Contributor events organized by other Columbus institutions and organizations.” The latter include Knowlton School Baumer Lecture Series talks by John Peterson on October 1 and Elena Manferdini on October 8 and the DRIVEbys exhibit on October 2, which features artistic (yet practical) parking attendance booth designs by Knowlton faculty Beth Blostein, Bart Overly and Michael Baumberger.
Other Columbus Design Week[s] include tours of Leveque Tour, a tailgate at Seventh Son Brewing, film screenings, workshops on building healthy environments, panel discussions, bike tours of the city and much more.
