Brett Wedding (March ’22) received the 2022 Student Design Award from the Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Architects in recognition of his graduate thesis project, “To the River, to the Wall.” Wedding’s project was created in response to a prompt describing impeding climate disasters and a looming apocalypse in the Post-Anthropocene.

Between the bends and kinks of the river wall exists an activated interstitial space for movement, exploration, and learning. Students are able to experience the architectural effects of the wall elements such as visuals into lab spaces or site, immersive searing, and cultivation of plants.
