Planning Students and Alumnus Collaborate on Sidney Comprehensive Plan

Planning students are partnering with the city of Sidney, Ohio to update Sidney's 2017 Comprehensive Plan. The updated plan will outline the community vision in areas like community service, housing, economic development, land use, and infrastructure. The team will seek public feedback to create an up-to-date community vision for the new plan.

The Knowlton team includes eight students from Chad Gibson’s undergraduate studio. Sidney City Manager Andrew Bowsher is an alumnus of the Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning (BSCRP ’15) and will participate on the leadership team.

The plan was last updated in January 2017. The updated plan will be a refurbished document that will outline the community’s vision or potential changes in several areas such as community services and facilities, housing, economic development, land use, and infrastructure. The plan will be used to help update and inform officials and the Planning Commission and Leadership team to evaluate current and potential future changes to make improvement decisions. It will be accessible to all to inform or help neighborhood groups; developers to help build; and brand or revitalize neighborhood sectors.
